President of Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) Sayem Sobhan Anvir said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is there in the development of the jewellery industry.

“I firmly believe the PM will provide maximum policy support to traders in the export of jewellery products,” he added.

Sayem made the remarks while concluding a two-day exchange of views with Bajus district-level leaders at Bashundhara residential area in the capital on Tuesday, said a press release.

Besides, he emphasised early solutions to the issues related to the Value Added Tax (VAT) and harassment affecting the jewellers.

“BAJUS must be strengthened to solve all the problems in this sector. All the gold businessmen across the country must be united,” he said, urging all the jewellers to join the BAJUS.

Moreover, he called upon the businessmen to set up jewellery factories and put focus on exporting gold products.
