Police and other law enforcers are more active now to recover robbed gold to support the jewellers across the country.

This was said by Dewan Aminul Islam, vice president of Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS)  in a view exchange meeting with in Moulvibazar jewellers and stakeholders on Friday.

“BAJUS is stronger than ever. The administration extends helping hand to the jewellery owners. We are working together towards ensuring well-being of gold traders,” he said.

If this trend continues, the jewellery industry will reach new heights, he opined.

He said Bangladesh will dominate the world market of jewellery products under leadership of BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir very soon.

Hailing from various parts of the district, gold traders took part in the meeting held at Bengal Convention Center in the town.

BAJUS executive member Reponul Hasan conveyed a message to jewellers to be united under leadership of Sayem Sobhan Anvir for the sake of flourishing the gold industry.

“If you (traders) want to trade gold, you have to be a member of BAJUS,” he said.

Member of Standing Committee on District Monitoring Nihar Kumar Roy suggested local traders to set up a gold testing lab in Moulvibazar to identify quality gold easily.

BAJUS Moulvibazar unit president Pankaj Roy presided over the exchange meeting. Barlekha unit president Lutfur Rahman, Juri upazila president Kamal Hossain, Kulaura upazila president Mithu Debnath, Rajnagar upazila president Kanai Dev and Sreemangal upazila president Shankar Vanik spoke on the occasion.
