Bashundhara Group Managing Director and Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir expressed profound shock at the death of the lyricist to Ekushey February’s signature song ‘Amar vaiyer rakte rangano’ Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury.
In a message of condolence, he said Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury’s contribution to the journalism of Bangladesh is unforgettable. Role of his writings in establishing the honour of our Bangla language and different phases of our struggle for freedom is remarkable.
His ‘Amar vaier rakte rangano Ekushey February’ is an immortal creation. During the Liberation War his weekly Joy Bangla inspired the freedom fighters immensely. Bangladesh lost a patriotic penman with his death, the BAJUS president added.
He prayed for salvation of his departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved members of Abdul Gaffar Chowhury’s family.
