Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir on Wednesday welcomed the procedures undertaken for the formation of an interim government led by Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus, after the fall of Awami League regime.
In his statement, Anvir said that BAJUS, representing 25 lakh employees and 40 thousand businesspeople involved in the country’s jewellery industry, would provide the maximum support to the interim government.
The Bangladesh Army would help to soon restore public order, and ensure safety of business organisations as well as factories, Anvir hoped.
BAJUS also condoles the families that have lost near and dear ones during the recent countrywide student-led anti-government demonstrations. The jewellers’ association wants fair trial for the killings and injuries during the mass upsurge, and also asks authorities to provide necessary financial assistance to the affected families, Anvir said in his statement issued on behalf of BAJUS.
